What is the future of democracy? Is it a realistic option?

Well i cant really answer this because there is so many variables that go in to this.... But if you look from now and into the past there was ups and down so going off of that i would say im sure there will be ups and downs or it could go up and up. Basically out of all of that i would say we cant tell what will happen in the future with out building a time machine and jump forward in time....not likely though. but to be on the bright side ill say yes it could get better if every thing fell into place perfectly..

What is the process to develop an economic policy that provides services and sustainability?

The process to develop an economic policy in my eyes are that we are basically losing the sustainability since we are going out of the United States to get everything built or repaired. Because back in the day the United States used to be in an industrial stage where we made everything ourselves, we basically became lazy and I am happy with that other then I know my kids will have to grow up and deal with all our problems we have brought upon the Nation. But back to answering the question I would have to say to develop an economic policy that provides services and sustainability we need to start bringing jobs back to the United States and become part of the Industrial Age once again. And to be able to feel more accomplished when building your own materials or building a toy etc. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind China, Mexico or even Brazil making our goods that we use so often. But I would say to become a more stable Nation I would say that this would need to happen.

How does a government facilitate comprehensive care for its constituents without sacrificing equity?

I think to answer this question fairly in my eyes to make so the government doesn’t look completely like a failure. Is first of all the government is stuck between a rock and a hard place because they do give out comprehensive care but I see a lot of people either use it wisely or abuse it. For example Food stamps is one way I see it being abused, people who don’t even need it anymore still go buy other things other than food with the stamps when there is people almost being thrown out on the street because they cannot afford the cost of living. But then I see like the House buyers credit, that the government is being way helpful and giving everyone an equal chance to use it. And Tax returns are another way they give equity, even if you have to pay or not pay. It gives you that chance.

How should a nation-state develop its foreign policy in accordance to its values and in connection to the development of its domestic policy?

Nation-state should develop its foreign policy in accordance to its values, ethics, beliefs, and morals of the domestic policy. Foreign policy should not be different when it comes to respect for human rights, freedom of speech, discrimination, international laws, and so on. I believe we should apply similar respect for various rights and freedoms that we have in the domestic policy to foreign policy. United States constitution has a great impact on the domestic policy and laws governing our country. Foreign policy should resemble the domestic policy and various freedoms, rights, laws we Americans have. For example, CIA operating in foreign countries often violates foreign nation laws, human rights, and freedoms, which also go against American domestic policy.

What role do judges and the judicial system play in supporting freedom?

How I was seeing this was they all where one big judging system but really there is three roles with in the judicial system first being the legislative branch which usually consist of making the laws. Then comes the executive branch which usually is tasked with enforcing the laws that were created. Then comes the third and final branch which is the judicial branch which is usually tasked with ensuring equal justice. But they all work together to help ensure justice and peace with in the United States. In some cases the judicial branch has the power to change laws through the process of judicial review. So after knowing all that I would have to say that judges themselves play a huge role with in the judicial system Like in some instances if people feel they are getting unfairly treated with in the lower branches of the judicial system they have a choice to go up the chain of command (if you’re willing to pay more money). But in the end the judges I am sure talk to each other anyway will always make the best decision possible with the facts that are brought to them. And that most of the laws that we vote for are usually created by these judges. So all in all judges play a huge role even if we like it or not.  And with all this power these gents and ladies hold they are trying their best to support our freedom.

How does the U.S. Congress, as it exists in its current structure, support and/or limit authentic representation?

The U.S. Congress as it is now is pretty much even since it is made up of so many ladies and gentleman that are different in many ways of how they think and look at certain aspects of the government. So that is how I think it supports and limits the “authentic representation” of our congress. Another way that its supported is by the fact that we the people elect who goes in these spots even though really it’s all about who has the most money and can be more flashy. In my opinion I could care less for the congress and who is in it because of how they were all picked… Somewhere picked and serve for the right reasons but most are in there because they had more money than the other competitor. But then again we chose them and have to deal with it.

In what ways does the U.S. Presidency support and limit the formation of an ideal democracy?

Well In my opinion i would say in this case that the president really has no more power than anyone else in his congress since even if he says he wants something done it has to go through congress and other hoops to either be told that it’s a go or nope sorry most of congress has vetoed that.In the book it talks about how much power the president had back in the day but times have changed, I really think of the president as the puppet and everyone (everyone being congress and all of America) else being the puppeteer. Yes he gets to go to foreign places to either uphold the peace or really just to be a hindrance to other countries and get in the way. When something’s just need to be worked out within that country instead of trying to push our government ways on them, and gets a super pimped out ride according to the History channel. Either way I guess the president can veto a bill but if the congress says something different then the bill can still get passed. So in my opinion I don’t think he really has so much power other than getting famous and maybe getting his face put on some currency.

How do individuals and groups of people influence the political process?

Well a group of people is really started by one Individual that feels a certain passion for anything really, and rally's up a group that wants to join in that passion or some people just join groups to just be in a group, but who am i to judge since really do like joining any kind of groups or rally's. But either way one single person can influence a political process even if they are by themselves because somewhere else is someone thinking something similar and would vote for that very same political view.... Why is politics never easy?

In what ways does public opinion influence the formation of a democratic society?

Wow, their is a lot of ways that can influence the formation of a democratic society, the biggest one being the public, i mean really everything is formed by the public and are really vocal about it. Hence the freedom of speech that was put in place by the founding fore fathers (because i am sure they were chalk full of ideas that needed to be spewed out on the table) and the way things were run back in the day. And since we are on that topic we are also able to vote on what we want or don't want, when many places in the world they don't have that capability or they do but are never heard and acknowledged. All in all the fact we are able to speak our mind and vote for that very same reason are a HUGE role in influencing the formation of a democratic society.

How do government and the private sector intersect? How should it?

My thinking is that both the government and private sectors are basically in cahoots, that’s how they make the money for most of the things that we are able to enjoy today. Like all the government funding for charities, Loans and research projects. Also if we didn’t have these two huge factors in our economy I think we would be way behind in the times. I mean at least right now we are keeping up in most of the technology. Like in our book it talks about the Railroad system and how most of the funding was either from government or more of the bigger companies, if I remember right chase bank was a huge factor back in the day and put lots of money back into the economy. So with that being said I think how the government and private sectors are being ran today is perfectly fine with me even if the intensions are to just make money for themselves but at least they contribute some times to notable causes.

Government, Economy, and Politics all have what in common?

When i look at all three of these they all have some sort of power. but also lots of money. Like the government it regulates lots of loan or all of the loans, and it regulates all the money that is put out into the United States. But that is not so bad because when all of us were in a tight spot usually the government helped out with money like the first time home buyer jazz its nice to have that extra cash in the pocket even if you did not use it or if you did. Also like GM they also got helped. And politics is all about the power hungry and money. I haven't seen anyone not want those things when getting into some sort of power position within the government or even with in work. But I guess there has to be that yin to the yang in our world.

What are the opportunities and challenges of a democracy?

In this question the first thing that popped in my head was, wow I never really stood back and admired how we are so damn lucky to be able to choose what goes on in this country even if we don't get the final say. Even in the movie idocracy there was still a democracy even though they didn't know what to do more than half the time. And how an average person that would usually sit and do nothing became something because the world was depending on him to get them to a better place. Speaking about average people, there is something I read in "The politics of power" that I really do not understand. Is how people with more money get more obligations within the Government? And back in the day about 30 years ago the differences between republicans and democrats were not big at all. And even further back the republicans and democrats were opposite, meaning the beliefs that the democrats have now used to be republican thoughts. But throughout time everyone is different and everyone changes so sides will eventually swap and maybe it will change in the future and everyone will all get along and won’t need any Government, but we all know that won’t happen anytime soon.

If Nobody did anything do you think we would end up exactly like the movie?

The first post I have ever done.

Considering this is my first post and have really no clue what to do with it, I'm going to put my views of politics.

First off I really never cared or wanted to care for politics since in our family it becomes a huge drawn out battle and everyone starts to hate on each other.... so i steer way clear of any confutations and stay neutral with everyone in the Family. So basically i would rather not be part of it, but sense my course of studies asks me to take this class I'm willing to learn more about politics and maybe gain something from this class.
